Schaeffer's Investment Research RSS Feeds

Schaeffer's Investment Research offers our readers the convenience of using RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds. RSS feeds consist of a list of our latest commentary headlines and summaries and are made available for you to access using RSS newsreader software (also known as "news aggregator" software). You can then periodically check your newsreader software for new Schaeffer's headlines as you would check email. You are also free to display these headlines on your own non-commercial website, provided that you follow our Terms of Use agreement.

How do I access Schaeffer's RSS feeds?

Rather than manually surfing to each individual web site that you enjoy and searching around for new content, you can use RSS newsreader software to compile all the latest headlines and excerpts from your favorite websites. Simply add one of our RSS feeds to your newsreader software and you will see a consolidated list of all the latest headlines related to the above topics. You can then view the headlines, read brief descriptions of each article and elect to visit the website and read the complete article if the headline and description captures your interest.

Finding RSS Newsreader Software

You can get a FREE newsreader for your computer by using Amphetadesk (compatible with Windows, Linux and Mac), Pluck (plugs into Internet Explorer version 6.0 and requires either Windows 2000 or Windows XP) or SharpReader (Windows compatible only --requires the .NET Framework to be installed first). These readers run on your computer, but you can also use web-based newsreader services, such as Feedster.com or Bloglines.com

Why should I use RSS?

RSS saves you time. At a glance, you can review news headlines, blog headlines, etc. from many websites faster than you could have done by visiting each website individually. The content doesn't arrive in your email box --it arrives via your newsreader software. You can subscribe or unsubscribe to whatever content you wish.

How can I get started?

The first step is to download and install a newsreader or news aggregator software package or subscribe to a web-based newsreader service, the links of which are described above. The next step is to copy and paste our site's RSS URLs listed in the table above into your newsreader software.

How do I know if a site is RSS enabled?

Usually sites post a small, orange button graphic on their page:

They may also post a graphic that reads, "XML" or "RSS":

...or they may supply a link that reads, "Syndicate this site". Clicking on one of these buttons or links will take you to a page filled with strange-looking text. Ignore the text, as it is only information that your RSS newsreader software uses to interpret our content. Simply copy the URL that appears in the address field of your web browser and paste that into your RSS newsreader software's URL or address field.
